Two independent laboratories of the World Health Organization confirmed the effectiveness of the Russian quadrivalent vaccine, Flu-M, for the prevention of influenza, reported the Federal Medical-Biological Agency (Fmba, for its acronym in Russian).

The injection developed by the Institute of Vaccines and Serums of the city of Saint Petersburg, attached to the Fmba, has a high quality to prevent seasonal flu and complies with international standards, according to the results of the tests carried out by the precincts of the WHO.

The evaluation was carried out in accordance with the WHO guidelines for an influenza vaccine, Sputnik reported.


The flu is caused by the influenza virus, which can cause mild illness, severe illness, and sometimes death. Its symptoms range from fever, cough, sore throat, headache, as well as runny nose, fatigue, vomiting and diarrhea.
