TEL AVIV, 22 FEB – The new toll of Palestinians killed in armed clashes with the Israeli army during a military operation in Nablus in the West Bank is 10. This was reported by the local health ministry, quoted by Wafa, according to which the number of injured has exceeded 102 and 7 of whom are in serious condition. The operation carried out by the Israeli army today in Nablus was ordered “to neutralize three wanted men involved in armed attacks in Judea-Samaria (West Bank, ed), who were planning other attacks in the immediate future”. This was reported in a joint statement by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet, the internal security service. Two of the wanted men – Hussam Assalim and Walid Dachil – belonged to the local Nablus faction known as the ‘Lion Den’. The third wanted man – Muhammad Ala’ Fatah – was a member of Islamic Jihad.
