This Saturday, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, carried out a new inspection of the works and progress of recovery and rehabilitation of the underground transport service, as part of the Metro Moves With You Plan.
During a tour, broadcast on television, through the facilities of the Capitolio station on line 1 of the Caracas Metro, the Vice President verified the workers’ area, the operation of the machines, the replacement of lights; as well as renovation work, air conditioning arrangements, cleaning, disinfection, waterproofing, among others.
Likewise, Rodríguez reviewed the medical care space, set up for the working class and exchanged impressions with the workers on the execution of recovery work.
On the tour, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez was accompanied by the Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán; the director of the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Aliens (Saime), Gustavo Vizcaíno; and the workers and workers of the Caracas Metro.
Sabana Grande Station
This Saturday also carried out the supervision of the progress achieved in the operational and service areas of the Sabana Grande station, of the Caracas Metro system, as part of the Metro Plan moves with you, reported the Minister for Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayan.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, Velásquez Araguayán specified that the verification of the progress in the recovery of the Metro station is carried out in the company of the working class.
«From the Sabana Grande station, we verified the progress of the Metro Plan moves with you; Together with the working class, we supervise the progress of the operational and service areas, in compliance with the instructions of the worker President (of the Republic) Nicolás Maduro. We keep advancing! », he specified.
Plan Metro moves with you
The Metro Plan moves with you is aimed at recovering the infrastructure of the underground transport system, for which the authorities continue to work on recovery tasks, boarding facilities and security of the Caracas Metro.
In this sense, to implement the plan, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, approved 150 million dollars for the recovery of the Metro, and 16 million euros for the rehabilitation of the rails.
To date, multiple recovery works have been carried out in various stations where escalators have been put into operation again, changing the lighting in the stations, spare parts and recovery of facades, deep cleaning of stations, painting and sanitation of areas, air conditioners in wagons and platforms of some stations, in which recovery work continues.
The work carried out to date by the Metro Moves With You Plan ultimately seeks to optimize the entire operational service, to offer better service to the more than two million passengers who use this means of transport daily.
