Venezuela’s participation in the 31st Havana International Book Fair was recognized by the organizing committee of this international literary meeting for having contributed, through the Ministry of Culture, more than 200 literary novelties and some 35 activities, including book presentations , conferences and talks.

Among the personalities that were present during the award ceremony were the writers and researchers Luis Britto García and Carmen Bohórquez from the Venezuelan delegation, and the poet, narrator and essayist Miguel Barnet from Cuba.

Given this, the president of the National Book Center (Cenal), Raúl Cazal, delivered Venezuelan texts, as a donation, to the José Martí National Library of Cuba, Casa de Las Américas, Nicolás Guillén Foundation, International Peace, Justice and Dignity to the Peoples and to the Provincial Center of Books and Literature of Havana.

Among the works donated were copies of the Carabobo Bicentennial Collection and news from the Venezuelan publishers El perro y la rana, Monte Ávila Editores and Biblioteca Ayacucho, which will allow both countries to continue sharing literature.
