Rome – It met at Palazzo Valentini the second assembly of the Tiber River contract (read here). Paola Cannavò, President of the Agenda Tevere Onlus Association and Cristina Avenali, head of the Small Municipalities Office and the River Contract – Lazio Region were present at the meeting. On the agendao the approval of new membership requests, of the new project proposals validated by the coordination committee and the state of implementation of the three-year action plan, approximately one year after the establishment of the Contract.
“The Metropolitan City, as a responsible entity, coordinates the activities by monitoring the proposed actions and sharing the projects with all the signatories – commented Rocco Ferraro, Managing Director for Ecological Transition, Environment, Protected Areas and Animal Protection of the Metropolitan City of Rome -. The action plan will also include the five redevelopment interventions on the urban stretch of the Tiber envisaged by Roma Capitale and financed with the resources of the 2025 Jubilee, which will be presented shortly by Mayor Gualtieri and the Capitoline Councilor for the Environment Sabrina Alfonsi, for a total of over seven million euros, and which will go to redevelop areas now degraded but with great development potential, from Ponte Milvio to Ostia Antica. The shared and participatory process continues to coordinate the activities of the institutions with those of numerous civil and professional associationsin a complex and unitary framework that will finally see a new face given to the Tiber, based on greater usability and real redevelopment, in full respect of the surrounding environment”.
