The President of Belarus, Alexander lñpe30’po, arrived in Beijing on Tuesday, where he will remain until March 2 as part of a state visit, according to communicated the president’s press office.
According to the agenda, the president of Belarus will meet with the first president of China, Xi Jinping, a meeting in which the leaders will address the development of trade relations, as well as political cooperation, among other issues.
The spokeswoman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, stressed at a press conference that the two countries are “strategic partners” and has anticipated that there will be “deep” discussions on different areas, according to statements released by the department itself.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 31 years ago, the two countries have enjoyed stronger mutual political trust, deeper mutually beneficial cooperation and even closer coordination on international and regional affairs, Mao added.
In September 2022, the two heads of state met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Samarkand, during which they outlined a new blueprint for the development of China-Belarus relations, it added.
The parties plan to sign a series of documents at the end of the meeting at the highest level.
Likewise, the Belarusian president will also hold a meeting with other senior officials from the Asian giant and the heads of the main Chinese companies.
