Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release Date
The official Twitter account of the franchise asked fans to closely follow the broadcast of the event (which, unfortunately, will take place through the exclusive platform for Japan, ABEMA), since ” the latest information will be given from Goblin Slayer .” These types of phrases are used when announcements are going to be revealed, so it is practically guaranteed that we will have more information about the second season on January 5th.
But perhaps things are not as positive as they seem. This second season was announced almost two years ago, at the end of January 2021, a year after the premiere of the movie Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown, which, according to The Numbers portal, had a pathetic collection abroad. It wouldn’t be surprising if WHITE FOX, the studio that made the first season and the movie, has already walked out on the project as usual.
And why do we say the latter? Well, it turns out that WHITE FOX has not been officially confirmed as the studio in charge of the second season, in the same way, that it happened with Vinland Saga (and that it did have a change of studio). Also, this second season doesn’t even have a promotional video revealed to date, so fans still fear the worst, that the franchise will fall into the hands of a lesser-quality studio.
Goblin Slayer Synopsis
Goblins are known for their ferocity, cunning, and rapid reproduction, but their reputation as the lowest of monsters means their threat is overlooked. Raiding rural civilizations to kidnap females of other species for breeding, these vile creatures are free to continue their onslaught while adventurers turn a blind eye in favor of more rewarding tasks with greater rewards. To commemorate her first day as a Porcelain rank adventurer, the 15-year-old Priestess joins a group of young and enthusiastic fledglings to investigate a tribe of goblins responsible for the disappearance of several village women. Unprepared and inexperienced, the group soon faces their inevitable demise from an ambush while exploring a cave.
With no one else left standing, the terrified Priestess accepts her fate – until the Goblin Slayer shows up unexpectedly to not only rescue her with little effort but to destroy the entire goblin nest. As a holder of the prestigious rank of Silver, the Goblin Slayer allows her to accompany him as she assists the Adventurers Guild in all goblin-related matters. Along with Priestess, High Elf, Dwarf, and Lizardman, the armored warrior will not rest until all goblins in the borderlands have been eradicated forever.
