The platform Netflix announced the production of an Anime adaptation of the Manga by naoki urasawa, pluto, which will be released this year through its global catalogue. The press release included a promotional video that also confirms the voice cast and that Studio M2 is in charge of production.
The statement also revealed a comment from the author, who wrote: “I applaud the bravery of everyone who has accepted the challenge of making an Anime based on Pluto. I am excited about the birth of this new series to win the hearts of the people. I hope that, now more than ever, Osamu Tezuka’s message reaches the whole world.».
To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the acclaimed work of osamu tezuka, Tetsuwan Atom (astro boy), the seinen author naoki urasawa collaborated with Tezuka Productions to create this dark adaptation of the Atom story arc, “The Greatest Robot on Earth“. The adaptation shifts the focus of attention from Tezuka’s protagonist, Atomto his secondary character, Gesicht, to better ground the story in realism and reflect the modern world through this science fiction story. The Manga was published through the magazine Big Comic Original from the publisher shogakukan between 2003 and 2009, compiling the story in a total of eight volumes.

Pluto Synopsis
The world famous Swiss robot Montblanc has been violently murdered. Humans and robots around the world are mourning the beloved celebrity, made famous by her service in the 39th Asian War. Montblanc’s popularity only grew in the post-war years, thanks to his dedication to nature conservation as well as his caring personality.
Robotic Europol detective and war veteran Gesicht is sent to investigate the tragic disappearance of Montblanc. Gesicht discovers evidence of a mysterious entity known only as “Pluto.” Along with this, he learns of a plot to dismantle the eight specialized robots from around the world that participated in the war. In a race against time to save those who remain, Gesicht confronts his memory, his morality, and a world filled with hate, desperately trying to defend the fragile coexistence of man and machine.
