This Saturday during the eighth of the Caracas 2023 International Tourist Carnivals, the winners of the floats, troupes and individual costumes that paraded through the capital city on Monday and Tuesday were awarded by the Mayor of the Libertador Municipality.

The information was released by the mayoress of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, through her account on the social network Twitter, in which she explained that in the Sucre Los Caobos Park, in Caracas, the activities scheduled for the octavita of carnival

«In the Eighth of the Caracas 2023 International Tourist Carnivals, this #25Feb In Parque Sucre Los Caobos we rewarded the winners of the floats, troupes and individual costumes that paraded on Monday and Tuesday,” the Mayor posted on Twitter.

Winners

In the float category, the winner was the Sucre parish, inspired by the work of art “La culebra y el colibrí”, located in the Gato Negro station of the Caracas Metro, made by the Italian sculptor Doménico Silvestro, in 1982, said a note on the account of instagram from Mayor Meléndez.

The Cathedral and El Paraíso parishes were awarded second and third place, respectively.

Best creativity and colorful

Within the categories of the prizes, there was the line for the best Creativity, in this case the prize was obtained by the San Pedro parish, with a work inspired by the historical and emblematic places of the capital.

As for the Most Colorful category, the award went to the Altagracia parish; while the Ecological prize went to the float of the Recycling and Cleaning Technical Tables (Metra); and the Patrimonial and Popular awards went to the parishes of Santa Teresa and Antímano.

The prize for the best Comparsa went to Fundarte; the Identity line was for the San Bernardino parish; Religious for La Candelaria; Tourist was for El Junquito; Refoundation was for Communes; Rebellion for La Vega; and Renaissance for El Recreo.

In the awards for individual costumes, Madama Vallita del Callao took first place, which, as its name indicates, was inspired by the Carnival of El Callao. Second place went to La Diabla de la Diversidad.

More than 3 thousand people: making floats

“We want to congratulate our people for demonstrating their originality and energy, working with mysticism, in this beautiful Carnival celebration,” said Mayor Carmen Meléndez.

He stressed that more than 3,000 people participated in the development of the floats to carry out all these activities.
