(CNN Spanish) –– A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck southern Guatemala on Tuesday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The seismic focus was located 61.7 km deep and the epicenter was located 45.9 kilometers north of Puerto San José, in the Escuintla region, and 68.2 kilometers northwest of La Gomera, in the same department. .
